Delete your account and readings
Groundlore, operated by Sam Arora
Delete everything, yourself, at once
- Sign in on groundlore.com (or in the Groundlore app) with the same email link or Google account you used before.
- Open your account.
- Choose Delete my account and readings and type DELETE to confirm.
It happens straight away. If you have a live subscription bought on the website, it is cancelled first; if that cannot be done, nothing is deleted and you are told why.
Subscribed in the Groundlore Android app? That subscription is billed by Google Play, and deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it first in Google Play: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Groundlore, Cancel (or visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). Then delete your account as above; the account page reminds you of this step.
Delete one reading
Open the reading (in your account, or on its share page) and choose Delete this reading. Its share link stops working at once.
A reading you took before signing in
Your first cup needs no account, so it is not tied to an email. You can delete it from the same browser: right after the reading, or by opening its share link there. If you sign in on that browser, it moves into your account and goes with it when you delete the account. From another device, send us its share link (groundlore.com/r/…) through the help page and we delete it.
What is deleted
- Your account and its sign-in identity.
- Every reading in it: the symbols, message, your name and question, and the answer.
- Every public share page of those readings, and any printed-edition unlock tied to them.
Cup photos are never stored in the first place, so there is nothing to delete there.
What is kept, and why
- If you ever paid us directly (credits, a subscription, or a purchase in the Android app through Google Play): an anonymous record of the payment, with no name, no email and no readings, because tax and payment-dispute rules require a record of money received. It can never be signed into again. Google Play keeps its own record of an app purchase under Google’s privacy policy.
- Purchases made through Gumroad (the $9 guide, the $29 printed edition) are held by Gumroad, the seller of record, under its own policy.
- Server logs (an IP address and the time of a request) are deleted on their own after 14 days.
- A message you sent through the help page is deleted after 12 months, and a refund request after 24 months.
Cannot sign in any more, or no longer have the app?
You do not need the app for any of this: everything above works on groundlore.com in any browser. If you can no longer sign in, ask for deletion on the help page or by email to hello@groundlore.com. Tell us the email address you signed in with, or send the share link of one of your readings, and we delete the account and its readings within 30 days and confirm by email.
