SYMBOL DICTIONARY · A SQUARE

A Square in your coffee grounds

Solid ground — stability, protection, and a foundation you can build upon.

The square is the cup's steadiest shape: four corners, nothing wobbling. It marks foundations — a home secured, an agreement made firm, a plan with its base finally poured. Where the circle completes, the square supports.

A square around another symbol protects it: a square framing a heart is a love made safe; framing a coin, a fortune kept. The cup shows a square when it wants you to know the thing you built will hold weight.
